LivingWell Institute is a 501(c)3 community health nonprofit that was founded to create a collaborative approach to caring for the whole person and building a healthier community together one individual and family at a time.
LivingWell Institute was inspired in 1997 when Drs. Dan and Penny Koval learned to care for their child who had suffered a life changing injury and stroke at 22 months old. Together as a family, they embraced this experience as both a blessing and a burden, recognizing that the journey to living well would require something more than simply caring for the physical needs of their child.
The recovery from this injury and their personal experience, perseverance, and the desire for a community committed to whole person health expanded the continuum of health care. These resources included care for the mind, body, and spirit for not only the child, but the entire family. Inspired by this experience and fueled by a passion to serve the community in whole person health and recovery, the Koval family founded LivingWell Institute in 2005.
Their vision, along with the hearts and commitment of others, to create a community committed to empowering individuals and families to better health and well-being has continued to grow since. Today this success represents the personal and professional expertise of many people committed to the mission of whole person health and recovery for all.
