I am a wife, mom, chiropractor and the founder of LivingWell Institute. I currently serve as the Director of Care at LWI.

 

I have spent the past 3 decades caring for people who suffer and they have taught me so much about life, health and the power of the human spirit.

RICK VUKMANIC, DIRECTOR OF FAMILY CARE

After working for almost 30 years in Child Welfare, I am excited to walk down a different path of accompanying families and individuals on their journey, hoping to explore new possibilities and sustainable options.

I have over 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, environmental and community health restoration, and education, providing a foundation for a unique, community-based approach to Whole Person Health & Recovery.

 

My passion is to build connections in the community and expand an innovative and experiential approach to health and well-being.

KAREN GISH, RIVER EXCHANGE DIRECTOR

My background in Health Education and 20 years of experience in spiritual care has fueled my belief in the power of a new beginning. 

 

I am a mother of three fun, adventurous young adults. My passion is found in photography, outdoor adventure, creative expression, and inspiring people with hope.

Before joining the LivingWell team, I spent the first part of my career working in various areas of law and government at both the county and national level.  I am excited to continue my career with LivingWell where I can follow my passion for finding truth and helping others to live well.

I've spent the past 13 years raising my 5 amazing children.  In that time I've gained a understanding of how important it is to find your identity and walk it out. It's my passion to empower people to step into what they were created to be and walk with them in their process.  I believe that we need each other no matter where we are in life!  We are all in this together, AS ONE!

I am currently working on a degree in Community Health.  I enjoy mentoring young kids and leading our 3D Balance class. 

 

I have a passion for fitness and nutrition which allows me to teach others to make changes to be healthy and feel good in their own body.

Donrico Colden focused on Behavioral Health Sciences Courses while attending HACC.   He went on to study Urban Ministries, with a focus on Health, Spiritualty, and Mental Health, St. Mary’s Ecumenical Institute and Seminary, Baltimore, Md. Following that, he completed his two year residential training and educational program at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, 1988. He received his National Clinical Education Certification. which opened the door for him to function as a practitioner in the field of Healthcare.  He has served as a Professional Chaplain in Long-term Care, Mental Health, and Acute Care for over 35 years. He retired from his position as Director of Chaplains in 2015. So, when the opportunity to join the Living Well Institute, he jumped at the chance to serve the students at elementary schools in the City of Harrisburg. Donrico feels humbled to have, the chance to put to use the knowledge and skills that he has developed throughout his career at UPMC; Leader Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers; The Harrisburg State Hospital; and the Pennsylvania Psychiatric  Institute.

I have been a licensed English teacher in Latina America, teaching spanish-speaking elementary and high school students. I am also passionate about the arts and as a teen won awards for visual arts (best of show, top overall at state), music (jazz and classical), and character/community service.  In college, I studied psychology and counseling, and I enjoy helping support others as we heal and grow together.

Hello my name is Sonya Rivers I am a Harrisburg native I have worked with children all my life from newborn to teenagers working for the Harrisburg School district, Parks and Rec afternoon school programs of all kind.

 

I have always had a heart and compassion to impacting the lives of our youth to become the best version of themselves.

Artistic Director and Founder of Narçisse Theatre Company is a Harrisburg native and Harrisburg School District alumni. Actor, director, playwright, and poet, it is Frank's vision to bring high-quality arts education to Harrisburg's underserved communities.

A community leader and businesswoman who wrote
three books and founded a company by the age of 21. She is a certified
life coach, public speaker, and vice president of a non-profit
organization that feeds thousands of people in the Harrisburg area
every year. Chante' joined the Arts and Mentoring program to help
develop the gifts and talents hidden inside the children in her
community.

Truffles joined the LivingWell team as the first of our therapeutic nature-based farm program in 2021. She is a 10 year old donkey with long, soft ears which she constantly is turning as she at he’s each new person that comes to the farm. She loves carrots and is eager for affection. She is the smallest of the pack and has the biggest personality!

CALLIE

Callie is a 30 year old mule, a cross between a Belgian draft horse and a donkey. She joined the farm team as a companion for Truffles and recently gained permanent residence at the LivingWell Farm in her retirement from the neighbors Amish farm. Callie is shy and gentle, and she quickly warms up and loves to be close and have her nose and head rubbed.
