Samantha Wood

Samantha is thrilled to embark on this new chapter as a board member. Her goal is to continue making a positive impact on the lives of families in our community and beyond. With her strong background in sociology and criminal justice, along with her personal experience, she is well-equipped to contribute meaningfully to the board.

My Story

Samantha, known as Sam now, was Ashely as a youth until she was adopted. She has been making a positive impact on the lives of children and families since her early days. With a dual bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology from East Stroudsburg University, her educational background has equipped her with a deep understanding of the complexities within families and communities.

Her journey began at the tender age of 9, when she started working in the church nursery. It was during this time that Samantha's passion for working with children and families was ignited. This passion led her to pursue a career in social work, where she could make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.

In October 2017, Samantha joined Dauphin County Children and Youth as a social worker, and she has been dedicated to her work ever since. Her personal experience as an adopted child has provided her with a unique perspective, guiding her to work hand in hand with families and community supports to establish lifelong positive relationships.

In 2018, Samantha became involved with Living Well INC, where she has been instrumental in reuniting families that were once thought to be beyond repair. Her commitment and dedication have earned her the respect of families, the court, and other community providers.
